An appreciation of a great Worco Member- Jurgen Trinkeller
Long standing members of Community Work Society Co-Operative Ltd, record with sadness, the passing of Jurgen Trinkeller on 16/1/2026, after a conclusive heart attack. Known to members as “Trinky”, he served as Worco’s Treasurer for over 20 years, until Worco’s move to Lipton Drive, Thomastown in 2020, when he retired as a member of the Co-Operative.
Trinky was born in Berlin and attended a language college- which explains his ready grasp of English and made easier his early days working in outback Australia. After his arrival in 1975. He was to make many tours around the country and was surely more familiar with the “bush” than many a “city slicker” of similar age.
Trinky arrived at Worco in the late 80’s and started his business in furniture polishing ,spraying and finishing. With his attention to detail being of great Philip to his business. Many is the collaborative work with his fellow members that is recalled with fondness.
Trinky was a no nonsense person, possessed of a kind heart, with an understanding of the plights of members, which arose from time to time. He became a close and long standing friend to a number of members, whom will miss his wit and humour.
He cared to for his childhood friend Machi Macholdt, reciprocal visiting events occasioned every couple of years, with Machi suffering the trauma of being an in house visitor at the time of Trinky’s demise.
Trinky’s efforts in managing Worco’s finances over so many years, stand both to his lasting credit and our Heartfelt appreciation.
R.I.P Trinky and thank you.
On behalf of Worco and its members
