Worco members enjoy the convenience of a managed workshop space, with an all-in fee covering rent and rates, admin, power, waste disposal, forklift access (licence required). Other benefits include connection with community-minded fellow members, each with a special set of skills and experience, while having autonomy over your own separately designated workspace. There are shared kitchen and office facilities. Worco is a registered co-operateve and membership entitles everone to a single vote on how the co-opertive is run. Spaces typically rage from 40-70 m2. Members are also required to participate in cleaning, upkeep chores etc

Consequently, the available workshop space is at a premium, and Worco is usually fully occupied. However, space does occasionally become available. Applicants are fully vetted as to their suitability for the space, both in terms of their proposed business – which involves submission of a business plan, and interview – and consideration of their compatibility with the existing enterprises.

Preference is given to small and/or fledgling businesses operating as sole traders, and engaged in design/making, crafts and heritage trades.
